Speaking at the University of Chicago
Susan has been a speaker for a variety of programs at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business and its Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship. She is currently the Marketing Coach for Booth’s Global New Venture Challenge which is held in Chicago, London and Hong Kong. Here are some of the events where she’s been featured:
Know Your Customer – Tips and Tricks for Conducting Customer Research
Class description: An interactive workshop designed to help entrepreneurs of all backgrounds develop a greater understanding of their customer and the marketplace.
Specific topics covered will include: target identification, use case development, qualitative versus quantitative research, and useful questions to ask during interviews and on surveys. Examples featuring stories of UChicago entrepreneurs will be included. Attendees will be encouraged to ask questions based on any in-progress customer research initiatives.
Building Your Marketing Plan
Class description: An interactive workshop designed to help attendees of all backgrounds build a strategic marketing plan for their businesses.
Specific topics covered will include: setting your objectives and strategies, identifying and assessing appropriate tactics, and determining your rough budget. Examples from past New Venture Challenge competitors and other entrepreneurs will be used. Attendees are encouraged to bring any real-world marketing plan questions they have related to their business ventures.
Marketing Research for Entrepreneurs Workshop
In preparation for New Venture Challenge application submissions, Susan will teach interested teams how to conduct customer interviews, validate their markets and develop use cases.
Chicago Booth Polsky Accelerator Positioning Workshop
As part of the Polsky Accelerator’s curriculum, Susan teaches a marketing overview workshop for the initial boot camp week. This year the overview included positioning and how to successfully work with creative partners.
Entrepreneurship Essentials Strategic Marketing
A featured speaker in the University of Chicago’s new series, Entrepreneurship Essentials, Susan spoke about Strategic Marketing at the Harper Center.
